WWE recently announced EVOLVE 131, a show that will feature two former EVOLVE talents in the main event – WWE NXT Champion Adam Cole vs. Akira Tozawa with the title on the line.
Matt Riddle will also take on WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak in a non-title match
The show will air on the WWE network on July 13 at 8pm. That’s the exact same time that All Elite Wrestling‘s third show, Fight For The Fallen starts.
Fight for the Fallen is going to be held in Jacksonville, FL at the site of a video game tournament shooting last August that left two people dead and 10 injured. A portion of the event gate will be donated to the victims of gun violence.
This did not go unnoticed by Kenny Omega, who fired off a since-deleted tweet, criticizing WWE’s toxic relationship with Saudi Arabia while seeming accusing the WWE of trying to undermine AEW’s Fight for the Fallen show, which will help victims of gun violence:
Kenny said: “If lining your pockets with blood money is okay, then what’s wrong with trying to undermine a charity show for victims of gun violence? I hear that healthy competition is supposed to be a good thing and yet I can’t help but feel like I’m gonna be sick”.
