RAW and SmackDown to be held in MSG for first time in 10 Years

The WWE is returning to New York and we don’t mean Brooklyn.

For the first time in 10 years, WWE RAW and WWE SmackDown will be held in the “World’s Most Famous Arena,” Madison Square Garden.

The two dates for the shows have been set as September 9 and September 10 for RAW and SmackDown Live. The last time RAW or SmackDown was filmed at the venue occurred on November 16, 2009 for Monday Night RAW.

This news comes after New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor sold out MSG earlier this year during WrestleMania weekend. WWE will run MSG just a few days before AAA’s debut at the arena on Sunday, September 15, and a week before New Japan Pro Wrestling runs a show at the nearby Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, September 28.

Madison Square Garden is seen by the WWE as their home venue, with the company having held top cards there for decades.
