Wrestling legend Ric Flair, 70, has been hospitalized Thursday morning. Conrad Thompson, a popular pro wrestling podcaster, says Flair’s hospitalization is for a “planned procedure.”
Flair, a 16-time world champion, survived a health scare last year, when he was placed in a medically induced coma and on life support for 10 days due to kidney failure and bowel issues. Many of his issues having to do with years of alcohol abuse.
In recent years Flair has revealed that he struggled with depression after his son’s death in 2013 and battled alcoholism, downing up to 15 drinks a day at his lowest point, throughout his wrestling career.
