Smackdown has a small ratings increase this week

SmackDown this week received a small ratings boost of nearly 100,000, reaching 1.93 million viewers. The rating was up 5.3% from last week’s episode, which attracted only 1.833 million viewers.

While the increase is good news, Smackdown still didn’t manage to bring in more than two million viewers. It was the third time this year SmackDown’s failed to draw 2 million.

The show’s .58 share of the overall 18 – 49 year old audience was Smackdown’s second worst number of the year. It was fourth on the night in that metric, behind both NBA games, and a double-overtime game 7 classic between Dallas & St. Louis on the ice.

The show was headlined by Daniel Bryan and Rowan defeated The Usos to win the vacant Smackdown Tag team Championship and Kofi Kingston successfully retained the WWE Championship in a triple threat match against Sami Zayn and AJ Styles of RAW, courtesy of the newly introduced ‘Wildcard Rule‘.
