WWE wants the Rock For SmackDown’s Fox Debut

With SmackDown Live moving to FOX later this year in October, WWE officials want to start the show on the new network with a bang.

It is rumored that the WWE is looking to bring in many legends for the first show. Three names that are being mentioned are The Undertaker, John Cena and Ric Flair.

But that’s not all. The WWE is reportedly also in contact with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The return of the Rock to WWE TV would guarantee a high rating and represent a major, particularly with WWE trying to paint their promotion as the legitimate wrestling organization in the wake of AEW’s emergence.

AEW’s Tuesday/Wednesday Night Dynamite show is expected to debut on the very same week. They aren’t going head-to-head on the same night, but we can therefore expect WWE to do everything in their power to put AEW over as the “minor leagues.”

Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?
